Getting involved
Getting involved with us, in a way that suits you, means that you can have a say in the services we provide and make a difference to what happens in your local community.
We support the rejuvenation of communities by engaging residents and working in partnership with others.
From service design and delivery, to large scale regeneration projects, we believe there is a much better outcome for everyone when we work closely together.
We actively support our residents to contributed to the communities they live in. In summary:
The Isle of Dogs (more commonly known as the Island) is home to many One Housing residents. We work closely with TRAs, community groups and other partner organisations to support our residents. We also provide funding for community projects called Community Chest and are a leading partner of the Tower Hamlets Community Involvement Network.
When we invest in new homes or seek to redevelop or improve our existing buildings and estates, we engage local communities to find out their local priorities and identify how we can positively contribute to the local area. We work with residents and support them to decide what they want for their area by setting up steering groups so that they play a leading role in local plans.
We are committed to helping preserve existing communities while helping other people join and enrich them. Similarly, we look to create homes for people with different needs and incomes across an estate or development.

We work with partners to deliver activities that can make a real difference to our residents’ lives.
We also work with our suppliers to deliver social value plans for the benefit of our communities. They can include: apprenticeship placements and work experience opportunities for residents or sponsorship funding for specific events such as our summer outreach programmes.
