Older people

Improving the wellbeing of our older residents.

More than 2 million people in England over the age of 75 live alone, and more than a million older people say they go for over a month without speaking to a friend, neighbour or family member. (Source: Age UK)

Supporting our elderly residents is something that is not just provided by One Housing Foundation. One Housing Care and Support provides a varied offer to older residents who are looking for appropriate homes and care.

What we do

  • Through our resident engagement activities, we conduct winter welfare checks and seek to reduce loneliness.
  • We encourage people and residents to volunteer with us to provide services for our most vulnerable residents and customers.
  • We work with organisations to deliver social and community projects specifically for our older residents.
  • We support a number of community groups which work to reduce isolation and loneliness. They organise community activity and trips for our older residents. Through these community groups, we also provide advice for our residents on how they can get the right support to continue living independently in their homes.
